Let us go
back in time to Summer 1997...
One day, after school, I went to the bookshop
to kill time, as I was waiting to go for an appointment at 4pm. It was
very early, only 2:35pm. I decided to browse around to see if I can find
anything interesting.
As
I was browsing around, a book caught my eye. It was a book on Flying
Star Feng Shui. These were the words on its back cover in Chinese...
"Did you know that there is a type of Feng Shui,
which can tell you the past, present and future? Just using the numbers
1-9,and by knowing the directions, you can tell what happened or what is
going to happen in any spot."
I was intrigued. Was I going to be like God?
Being able to tell the past, present and future? This seem to be more
advanced than 8 Characters.
I bought the book immediately and tried to
study it. After doing a number of experiments and not getting any
desired results, I was quite disappointed.
So was Feng Shui really superstition?
After some time, due to the stress from my
studies, I left Flying Star Feng Shui aside.
Fast forward to Spring 2002...
During my days in the army, I met a friend from
another unit in my camp. Upon chatting, I discovered that he was quite
knowledgeable in other types Feng Shui, but not Flying Star Feng Shui.
When he found out that I had some knowledge on
Flying Star Feng Shui, he urged me to pick it up again and study it
well. He said although it was more difficult than other types of Feng
Shui, it is very accurate.
I decided to reenter the world of Flying Star
Feng Shui again. I started off my looking at the different offices and
bunks in my camp. As the research got more intense, I decided to invest
around US$160 in a traditional Chinese compass, also known as a "Luo
Pan".
When my friend knew
about my Chinese compass, he immediately asked me to check his office
Feng Shui for him.
I
agreed.
Using my Chinese
compass and after doing some calculations, I was able to pin-point the
favorable and unfavorable positions in his office. Basing on the
calculations, I went with my friend around the office, telling him who
was sitting at which position. And what will happen to each of them.
When I reached a particular desk, I told my
friend that the person sitting there had a lot of romance luck. If this
person was married, he may be keeping a mistress.
My friend was getting excited. He exclaimed
"Hey, that's where my immediate superior, the warrant officer sits. He
is keeping a mistress. When big boss is not around, he would spend long
hours on the phone, talking to his mistress."
I did not believe him. "What makes you so sure?"
I asked.
"Oh, it is
obvious enough. The difference in his tone when he talks to his wife and
his mistress. Once, his wife called. I answered and passed the call to
him. When he spoke to her, he was very snappy and impatient. When he
spoke to his mistress, his tone is very slow and loving."
Now, it was my turn to get excited. "I
am amazed
by Flying Star Feng Shui. It is really quite accurate." I left the
office, determined to learn more about Flying Star Feng Shui.
4 months passed.
One day, my office phone was ringing. Rrrrrring...Rrrrrring...
"Hello?"
"Hello Marco? Hey, your
prediction came true!"
"What prediction?" I was very curious. I didn't
remember making any predictions recently.
"Remember, you came to my office to look at the
Feng Shui? You told me that the lower left corner of the office is
unfavorable because the Star of Misfortunes is there. You mentioned that
whoever who sits there will get into some form of trouble."
"Yeah, I think I said that before. So what
about it?"
"Last week,
under big boss' instructions, all of us were to reshuffle our sitting
positions. All the desks were moved."
"So are you currently sitting at the
unfavorable position?" I thought he got into trouble, and I was about to
offer him a solution. But I was wrong...
"Nope, not me. But my immediate superior, the
warrant officer. I don't know what exactly happened, but a few days ago,
his wife caught him red handed with his mistress."
"How did you know that?"
"I heard him on the phone. He was explaining
profusely that they were only friends."
"And what was the outcome? Did his wife ask for
a divorce?" I was getting nosey all of a sudden.
"That I don't know. But that was not the only
thing that happened. Recently, my big boss keep picking on him for no
reason. Almost everyday, I can hear him getting scolded inside big boss'
office."
"So that is why
you said my prediction came true..." I finally knew why he was so
excited.
"Yes, I think
Flying Star Feng Shui is really amazing." He replied.
